Sakon's reason for living and most important person, no homo. In all honesty, there's really no one that compares to Mitsunari as far as Sakon is concerned. His lord is the coolest, fastest, and strongest person on the face of the planet. It's not so much that he's blind to his lord's short-comings - goodness knows he's been on the bad end of Mitsunari's temper more than anybody else, but rather that none of it detracts from the fact that Sakon admires everything about Mitsunari. He wants to be as resolute as he is, but more than wanting to be like him, he wants to be the best retainer possible to serve him. So far his lord has given him one order: do not die. And after seeing the way that his apparent death affected his lord... he's determined to do everything in his power to keep from putting him through that again. |
Out of all the samurai in the Land of the Rising Sun that aren't his lord, Yukimura might very well be Sakon's favorite. Please note that does not spare him from Sakon's teasing and sticky fingers, but he does earn a lot of Sakon's praise at the same time! He's burning hot, after all - no homo. Yukimura's determination and firey spirit ignite Sakon's own, inspiring him to be better so that he can serve his lord as fervently as Yukimura serves his! To be honest, Yukimura is one of the people that Sakon would go to first if he were to ever need something. He trusts Yukimura's judgment (with no actual basis as to why but whatever) and honestly earning Yukimura's praise is enough to make him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. .... Still no homo. Probably. |
As far as retainers go, Sakon is pretty sure that Sasuke is one of the best - on par or just a liiiiiittle bit behind Kojuro. So that sort of admiration and the fact that they are rather similar on the surface level is enough for Sakon to completely ignore the fact that he normally hates ninjas. Good job, Sasuke, you have made it past Sakon's prejudice. That said, Sasuke still hasn't made it past the part where Sakon gets a little accidentally insulting at times.... and there was also the time that Mitsunari smacked Sasuke around a little on Sakon's behalf. But that was an accident! Honest!! |
Back home, Sakon's main beef with Motochika was the fact that the pirate seemed to be all buddy-buddy with Ieyasu. And anyone who's buddy-buddy with the traitor has gotta be instant scum. Which sucked because honestly, Motochika seemed like a chill guy otherwise! So cue his entrance into Haven and he's all "Yeah, put me in line to kill Ieyasu!" and can you say score? It's kinda funny how quickly Sakon's tune changed but so far Motochika doesn't strike him as a bad dude at all. After all, anyone who can appreciate the fun in randomly stealing shiny things from people can't be all that bad! ... Or at the very least, they can't be boring and that's what's important. |
Normally Sakon can come up with something nice to say about most people. The gem that he's got for Motonari is the very wise, deep, and meaningful: "I like his hat." 'cause you see, Motonari's got this really sour look in his eyes that just rubs Sakon the wrong way! There's something in that gaze that he just can't trust - and Sasuke warning him about Motonari on top of that kind of just underline the guy on Sakon's watch list. He says he's an ally and that's cool, but Ieyasu called himself an ally of theirs too before Mitsunari ended up getting betrayed. And as Mitsunari's retainer, Sakon's not going to let his lord suffer that kind of pain on his watch! Best check yoself before you wreck yoself, Stilettos! |
Mitsunari-sama beat him up once. It was awesome. .... In truth, Sakon really doesn't have much of an opinion on Masamune. He's got a cool eyepatch? Does he run into walls at all? How does it feel to be without all his swords? Does he fight lop-sided? Truly, these are the important questions that come to Sakon's mind when he thinks of Masamune. Now Kojuro on the other hand - he's a man's man! Why couldn't Haven bring him? |

Straight up - she just needs to fall in love with him already. Sakon's made it his personal goal and even issued an official challenge to Aria that he's gonna make her fall in love with him. If you ask him, she's just in denial about it and should accept it since his victory is inevitable! .... Now if you actually ask him seriously, he'll admit that Aria is also his partner. His first partner ever. They work together in battle and sleep in the same bed. Though the second part probably isn't required, it's definitely a nice perk. So are the kisses and general fact that she's down to make out. Great perks. He's still not sure how to feel about the fact that her laugh makes him smile without even thinking or how he struggles to sleep without her in his arms anymore, though. Maybe he could do without that. Hormones are weird. |
So Esdese was already living in Haven when all of a sudden, Mitsunari and Sakon became her roommates! Now, Sakon isn't aware that Esdese is constantly contemplating the idea of fighting Mitsunari for ownership of the resident puppy retainer - so as far as he's concerned, she's a pretty cool roommate! It's not like she's ever given him trouble. Though admittedly this sitcom has been disrupted slightly due to the fact that she actually killed Fujimaru when they were in the murder maze... and Fujimaru told Sakon about it. Now Sakon isn't the type to really hate on people for killing - he did it too, after all - but the messing with his friends part is less than cool. Why can't they have normal roommate problems like labeling food and using all the hot water? Dammit! |
She's legitimately the worst. She messes up his hair, immediately clambers onto his shoulders with the grace of a duck, and uses pillows to bully him! Honestly, Sakon has no idea why she's so popular or why he hangs out with her so much. .... But that still doesn't really keep him from popping up at her window regularly, dragging her out for some sort of dumb adventure because despite the fact that she's really awful, at least she's not boring. Nah, she always comes up with some sort of way to keep him entertained. And even if he doesn't always want to (since looking after this hellion is actually a full-time job on its own), he cares about her. When she's not smiling and laughing with him, Sakon's world just isn't right. |
When he heard about the whole "timeline twin" business, Sakon prepared himself for another insane little pipsqueak that'd demand piggy back rides and make his life harder. What he got instead was someone that... well, he'd willingly offer a piggy back ride to anyway. He's a lot nicer than the other Morgan and surprisingly just as fun! On top of that, he knows a lot about tactics and that's enough to earn Sakon's admiration. They come from entirely different backgrounds and have completely different perspectives on their armies, but Sakon doesn't mind the learning experience for once. Honestly, they're close enough that Sakon doesn't mind learning much from Morgan at all. Hopefully he's ready for the burden of Sakon's attention though! |
To be real honest with you, Sakon makes a silent bet in his head as to whether or not he'll be dealing with Scary Noire or Nice Noire whenever he walks up to her. Each time, he really, really hopes that it's Nice Noire though. The scary Noire has a malicious vocabulary to match Mitsunari's and that's terrifying because honestly, that's a whole lot of vitriol in such a small body! The whiplash only intensifies when she's normally willing to give him a hug or even cry in his arms. Still though, Sakon doesn't doubt for even a second that Noire is a friend. He let her die once and he's not about to allow that to happen again! They've only gotten closer since, after all. ... and since they've gotten so close, you can't really blame him for trying to play cupid for her and her boyfriend, right? |
When they first met, Sakon got immediate flashbacks of Katsuie. And honestly, since Sakon was pulling Katsuie around Japan just before he arrived in Haven... it was a welcome feeling to encounter someone who was so much like his friend. So it was all too easy for Sakon to fall into the same patterns, encouraging Fujimaru to pursue more out of his life and seize it by the horns. Betting on him and his success was also a step that was all too easy to take. However since their first meeting, Fujimaru's started to warm up to Sakon a bit more and... well, if that's not kinda heart-warming, Sakon doesn't know what is. Now he doesn't tag around Fujimaru because the other reminds him of Katsuie, but rather because he genuinely like him and wants him to be happy. Since he heard that Esdese killed him in the maze, Sakon hasn't quite been able to shrug off this feeling of guilt and confusion. Why does it seem like Sakon cares about his friend's life more than Fujimaru does? A question that will need to be answered the next time he goes to bug him. At least he knows where Fuji-kun lives now! |
To be honest, he just found out her name from Fujimaru but as far as he's concerned, she's still precious. He's kind of pissed off at Haven for bringing her there in the first place though. She seems to struggle a lot and Sakon can't handle how sad that makes him. But rather than dwell on his discontent, he's a lot happier to make sure that there's a smile on her face at all times. True enough, he doesn't know a lot about her - but why does that matter? It's hard for a lot to matter when someone's as cute as Shirayuki after all. |
It's kinda funny how Haven decided to bring yet another Shima in! Apparently they just can't get enough of this bloodline. .... Now to be honest, Sakon has absolutely no idea if Renzou is actually related to him. But they share the same last name! That's gotta count for something!! How many other super awesome, cool, really strong Shimas could there be anyway? Now it's true that Sakon doesn't know much about Renzou aside from the fact that he doesn't seem to like his family (weird, 'cause they're Shimas, but Sakon will let it slide) and that he's also in service of a lord, but he doesn't think he really needs to know much else. As long as he's under the impression that Renzou is his descendant, he'll take care of him. After all, he's gotta make sure that whatever family he has stays safe. |
When they met, they shook hands upside down. If Sakon believed in love at first gymnastics move, that might have been it. But seeing as he doesn't, he can definitely appreciate Ty Lee for an awesome friend. A kindred spirit if anything! She's cheerful, pretty, and can keep up with his energy. What more can he look for? There are admittedly some gaps in between the times they talk, but that doesn't make her any less likable at all. At least there are always new things to talk about! Though eventually he does want to go back to that circus idea they first had.... |
First things first: he can float and introduced himself as The Anguished One. If that doesn't give off Gyobu-type vibes, Sakon doesn't know what does! Though apparently Alcor isn't a leper... so they're not totally the same. Still though, since he's reminded of Gyobu and likes Gyobu a lot, there's no reason for Sakon to not like Alcor! They're not exactly friends but they get along well enough that Sakon didn't mind giving him a piggy back ride in the murder maze. He's cryptic and talks in riddles and Sakon loses track of the conversation a lot, but that's okay. That just means it's another day that ends in Y. |
Apparently she lives with Yukimura. Apparently she's his girlfriend. You know what that means? Cohabitation. Didn't think Yukimura had it in him to be honest!! Phew, Haven changes a man. But then again, Sakon's not too surprised. Precis is really cute after all - how could a normal person resist? She's a genius too and that definitely sounds like a perk! Honestly he could probably make a list of all the reasons why she's a good girlfriend for Yukimura. So clearly someone needs to tell him that Preics was just messing with him and not actually dating. Because one of these days, he's going to expect him to kiss and will be wildly confused as to why not. |
Sakon honestly has this weird habit of meeting groups of people who are already associated with each other.... so he first met Sharon from Ada's world and then he met Ada and got flashbacks without even knowing they knew each other! Because as far as Sakon is concerned, Ada is another cute, demure, and very polite noble lady who insists that he not give her any special treatment despite her status. The fact that she doesn't think she quite measures up to Sharon really confuses him because of that. If Sakon were to picture an ideal noble lady - someone who's graceful and kind and all that jazz - then Ada would definitely be someone he considered to be really, really close! |
Leave it to Sakon to make a friend in the murder maze where everyone was getting batshit crazy and killing each other left and right. So basically they followed through with the challenge that Kite set forth: kill someone to get out of the maze. Surprisingly enough, their sense of honor matched up so well that they agreed that whoever won their duel would be the one to walk out of the maze. Sakon respects Dante so much that he's also the first and only person to have received one of his dice so far. Does this count as blood brothers? Bloody brothers maybe? Ah well, whatever. Dante's awesome as far as Sakon is concerned. |
Of all things that Sakon has come to expect from Haven, meeting a cute girl to teach festival dances to totally wasn't on his list. That said, he's definitely not complaining! Lapis is genuinely adorable and huggable and kissable and - sshhh, don't tell Aria. Admittedly Sakon figures there's something a little bit off about her, seeing as she did try to scar herself further to get the brand off her cheek, but he's so easily distracted by how sweet her smile is that he doesn't give it any extra thought. In the hell hole that Haven is, he won't say no to having another cute girl to flirt with for fun. Definitely not. |
To be honest, Sakon can relate. Clementine doesn't trust anyone despite just being a kid. He's seen so many children like her left behind by the war, scarred and cautious. In fact, he was one of those kids himself... which is probably why he recognizes her anxiety and tries to be as understanding as possible about it. So even though he really doesn't have much of a hero complex - he's more of a general show-off - he does want to gain her trust and let her have someone to have faith in. Maybe even crack a smile now and then. If he can avoid growing up too fast, he's sure that she can too. |
Honestly, she's kind of a dog so therefore Sakon already likes her more than 80% of Haven. Amazing. Give him some time to figure out that she's a Japanese goddess too. Right now his most important goal concerning her is that he gives her enough ear scratches to last five lifetimes. |
When she was in Haven, Sakon cared for her a lot more than most people. She was genuinely kind to him and then he let her die. There was a feeling of responsibility when it came to her well-being.... and then she left. True, he had a friend leave before but Colette's was the first one that really hit him. He's not sure what to do about it. He still thinks about her. He still hopes that she's happy. He still wishes he could've said goodbye. |
